People who have many wigs but don't have much space to store them. It doesn't matter they're synthetic or human wigs, you want to make sure that your wigs are safely stored. Otherwise, they will get all nappy and crazy. If you're throwing them away boom in the closet somewhere and they will get a twist. Here are some ways to store your wigs if you have limited space:
1.Wig stored bags.
If you have a few wigs, you can store them inside hair bags. Hair bags look like garment bag hangers, but this one is specially designed for wigs. It comes with a clip hanger where you can clamp your wig. Once it’s clamped, you can put it inside the bag and hang it inside your closet and it won’t take much space of your closet.
2. Clothes drying rack within hangers.
You can hang your wigs where you’d normally hang your clothes to dry. Clip onto the edges of the cap construction. Don’t clip on the strands to avoid breaking and pulling them. If you don’t have space for either of these, ziplock bags and plastic shoe bags can also be wig storage options.
3. Prepare a big ziplock bag or a plastic shoebox.
To maintain the style of the wig, put a hairnet over it before you put the wig into the ziplock bag or box. This will also save you time the next time you decide to wear it. You can write the wig brands and style items on the ziplock bags, this helps you find the wig quickly. Your human hair will keep the style as same as before for a long time and won’t tangles. If your wig is long and does not have curls or waves, then braid the ends into 2 or 4 sections before storing it. This will help prevent the long fibers from tangling.
When traveling, I suggest storing them inside a plastic box to avoid crushing it. If you have several wigs and you plan to stack them together, you can put tissues inside to further protect the wig’s shape.
Some more tips to remember:
Always clean and brush your wigs before storing it. You can spray a wig conditioner before storing it to strengthen the strands.
Never store your wigs damp. This attracts bacteria, molds, and damages the hair fibers.
Keep them out of direct sunlight or hot areas. This will weaken the strands and cause the color to fade.
Store them in a dry area or your closet.
Keep them out of children's and pet's reach.
